Caroline is 3 and 1/2, she is lively, quirky, hilarious, compassionate, kind, sweet as pie, a wonderful big sister and a thinker. We love this little girl and are so thankful that God gave her to us to love. She asks about a thousand questions daily. She likes to know what we are going to do next, and the next day, and the next day, and the day after that. If anyone needs a calendar, it is Caroline. She also has some funny quirks. 1) She will not wear anything but dresses, and preferably short dress, because she doesn’t like the way long dresses bunch up in her car seat. 2) She will only wear crocs, unless it is Sunday then she will agree to nice sandals or her ballerina shoes only for a few hours. 3) The second we get in the car, she must take her shoes off (number one reason I don’t mind her wearing crocs). 4) Her room must be clean before she will go to sleep, she does not like a mess.
Caroline keeps us laughing and thinking with the things she will say and ask:
-We were driving home the other evening and she saw a church in passing. She asked if it was sad that Jesus died on that cross. Josh explained that yes, it is sad and it was sad the way the world treated Jesus, but that because he died on that cross we are able to live with God forever. Then she chimed in, oh it is sad and happy, both, okay.
-She wants to be my mother when she gets older and I’m a little girl again.
-Caroline asks lots of questions about heaven, whose going to be there, what it is going to be like, when we are going, etc…
-We were listening to a song on WDJC about “You can lay your burdens down” and she asked me what burdens are…I told her they are things that bother or worry you and a gave her a few examples from the ‘quirks’ in her life. She grabbed her chest and asked “are these burdens?” Where does she come up with this stuff?
-Always fielding lots of questions about Jesus and God. She loves to sing songs about Jesus, she adored VBS and asks when we can do that again. She also said she wants to be a BBS Crew leader when she grows up:)
-Last weekend we went back to Chattanooga for my cousin, Robert's wedding. She loved the wedding and seeing his bride, Kelly. Kelly even danced with her at the reception, absolutely made her day. We got home around 10:15 pm and both of the kids were asleep so we successfully transfered them into their beds. We had changed them into comfortable clothes before we left Chattanooga. Anyway, Caroline woke up around 6:15 and was very distraut. She was upset that she still had her clothes on and not pj's. She was concerned that we didn't give her asthma medicine or Claritin to her. Then, she asked...'did you even brush my teeth?' She laid down beside our bed for awhile mumbling and then, she asked us, 'you atleast brushed my teeth didn't you?' Oh this girl likes her routines.
-She also takes it upon herself to grab a glass out of the dishwasher (usually dirty), fill it up with ice cold water, and give it to her daddy while he is mowing the lawn. I have never been one to do this, but Caroline thinks of this on her own and does it habitually. She can be very thoughtful and considerate.
-Loves to paint watercolors and give them to people she loves. After we picked up our computer from the Geek Squad, she wanted to paint 'Kenny' (the guy who fixed our compter) a thank you painting:)
Love this little girl. Oh and her favorite song to sing to Clark is one she made up:
Clark-y boooo, we love you-ou-ou…and she fills in various hilarious verses.
She sat right beside him and held his hand while he got his 15 month shots today, he didn’t even cry. Loves these two.
