Nutcracker, sweatbands, actual birthday and such

As one of Caroline’s birthday presents, we went to Samford to the Alabama Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker. It was amazingly beautiful and well done. Caroline has now decided she wants to be on the stage one day. The performance was long, but she sat on the edge of my lap the entire time, in awe.

Clark still loves his dog, dog, but he is also very fond of a green sweatband with a football on it. Left over from an Easter Egg hunt two years ago! Every morning when he wakes up, he starts pointing for the sweatband. Then when you put it on him, he walks around saying pointing to the football, saying ‘ball ball.’ My father-in-law is looking for some power ‘T’ sweatbands for him, maybe he could bring our team some luck next year.

On December 20th, we all went into Caroline’s room, woke her up by singing ‘Happy Birthday’, and then Josh took her on a birthday breakfast date to Chick-fil-A. She got to open a few more presents from us when she got home. I never want her to feel slighted for having a birthday so close to Christmas. But this year, I may have gone a bit overboard. We’ve been celebrating her birthday for over a week now. She’s loving every minute.

Clark thought he and his sweatband would just mosey onto work with Josh. He was quite upset when he learned they weren’t invited. He got over it when he and sis snuggled a bit, before we headed to the library.

Clark is also obsessed with firetrucks! He was pointing and showing everyone his longalls, in a gruff voice ‘firetruck’…all boy!

Then we had some neighbors over for cake and cocoa to celebrate. We LOVE our neighbors and Caroline actually requested that we invite them over for cake.

Great excuse to break out the Desert Rose. My grandmother would be so proud!_DSC0431_DSC0437_DSC0442_DSC0448_DSC0449_DSC0452

Her wish: That she and Bella could go to Candyland, love it!!

Then the kids had the idea of taking all 40 of our plastic golf balls and bouncing them all down the stairs. Clark thought this was hilarious and could not stop laughing!_DSC0460_DSC0462_DSC0464

They wanted to go across the street to Bella’s house, but Caroline’s shoes were in the car. Bella had a great idea that she could share her shoes and socks. Just had to get a picture!!

ok so i love all the pics and have so many comments. first of all, we have the same green sweatband that keeps turning up and the boys love putting it on and off. secondly, carolines bday cake is super cute and i love the pendant banner above and the neighbors are precious. great pic of josh and caroline, really got great light in that one. and i LOVE the two of them snuggling in the crib. i so want to try and take some pics of my boys in lukes crib but am afraid a "loving" wrestling match may start up before i got the first pic. gotta love boys. so glad you got to get dressed up and enjoy the ballet.
