Polar Express

We thought it would be fun to take Caroline on her first 'real' train ride for her birthday. So several weeks ago we booked our spot on the Polar Express. This train ride sold out in a matter of a day! We arrived a little late, due to my pregnancy brain...and we missed our train! Oh, did I ever have a disappointed crew! My grandfather would have disowned me (when we were in France, we would always get to the train station atleast an 1 and 1/2 in advance. He always said , the train waits for no man). I almost cried. The ticket ladies were so sweet and told us to wait to see if there were any unclaimed tickets for the next departure time. It seemed like a tortuous 45 minutes! Caroline was so ready to get on a train! So we waited until everyone boarded and they found some seats for us, right beside a friend from Josh's work who has 3 adorable boys (and they are pregnant in March with their 4th boy). It worked out perfectly and the boys were so into it that Caroline loved it too! It was so funny, she even wanted to sit with them after her milk and cookies. They played with her hair and inquired about her bow. She was such a novelty to them and of course she loved every minute of it! So it all worked out in the end...thank goodness! Happy Birthday!

Another perk of having a friend on the train...a family picture!

Caroline really liked Mrs. Claus.

She wasn't as sure of Santa...

Caroline hanging out with Max. She loved his sock monkey pj's. She talked about them this morning!

It looks like Caroline enjoyed it a whole lot more than Carter! Or at least she liked Mrs. Claus and Santa. :) Happy birthday sweet Caroline!!!
